Who was Ketan Agarwal? Here is what we know about the Pune trekker

Ketan was a resident of Gahunje in Pune district. He served as director and Chief Marketing Officer of Success Group, a family-run real estate business and was based in Pune, tha report in NDTV said.

Ketan held a Master of Science degree in Entrepreneurship from Babson F W Olin Graduate School of Business. He also held a BBA degree from Symbiosis University, as per the report.

According to his LinkedIn bio, Ketan was committed to sustainability and innovation. He focused on projects aimed at fostering economic growth while also contributing to a greener future.

Ketan was engaged to Siya Goyal and the two were scheduled to marry later this year. Families on both sides had made extensive wedding preparations, including booking a palace in Rajasthan's Udaipur, reportedly at a cost of Rs 17 crore, the report said. Two private planes had also been arranged to fly in guests.

How Ketan Agarwal died

Ketan died on June 18 after falling nearly 400 feet into a gorge near Lohagad Fort while on a trek with Siya. The fort, linked to the history of Maratha empire founder Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, is one of the 12 forts in Maharashtra listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Siya initially told the Lonavala rural police that Ketan had slipped and fallen amid strong winds and an accidental death report was registered, the report noted. Police later found the circumstances suspicious and said on Tuesday that Siya and her lover, Chetan Chaudhary, had pushed Ketan to his death and tried to stage it as an accident. Both have since been arrested.

According to the report, Ketan's father, Vishal Agarwal, has said Siya had made an earlier attempt on his son's life at the same fort on June 14, four days before the killing. Ketan survived by grabbing onto a bush, after which Siya shouted that a snake was approaching and then hugged him, the report added.
