The luxury cruise liner Mein Schiff 6 has made its maiden call at Sri Lanka, docking at the East Container Terminal (ECT) of Colombo Port. The vessel, sailing under the flag of Malta, carried 2,380 international tourists and a crew of 951.
Upon arrival, the visitors were welcomed with traditional cultural and artistic performances organized by the handling travel agencies.
Before reaching Colombo, Mein Schiff 6 made a port call at Hambantota International Port on May 19. During their southern stop, tourists explored major wildlife and cultural attractions, including Yala, Bundala, and Udawalawe National Parks, as well as the sacred town of Katharagama.
A special hospitality and welfare program was jointly organized by the Ruhunu Tourism Bureau and the Hambantota Municipal Council to ensure a memorable experience for the visitors.
