The minister made the remarks while responding to oral questions raised in Parliament.
He stated that a stock verification conducted in 2015 by a board appointed to inspect paintings and sculptures at the National Art Gallery had uncovered details regarding the missing artworks.
According to the findings, the official stock register lists 281 paintings, but only 239 paintings are currently available at the National Art Gallery, the minister said.
