President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has announced that special emphasis will be placed in the forthcoming national Budget on the development of rural roads, provision of drinking water, and resolving waste management issues.
He made the remarks while attending the Special District Coordination Committee Meeting held at the Batticaloa District Secretariat on 20 May.
The President said the Government will focus on addressing long-standing infrastructure gaps in rural areas as part of its development strategy.
