At present, 10 female officers and cadet officers are serving on board vessels, bringing total female participation to 26. Deputy Minister Janitha Ruwan Kodituwakku expressed satisfaction with the productive discussions and reaffirmed that government support will be strengthened to further expand global career opportunities for Sri Lankan youth, while also increasing women’s participation in the maritime sector.
