Cloudy conditions will prevail over the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, and Uva provinces and the Ampara district. Morning showers are expected in these areas

Fairly heavy falls above 50 mm are likely at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Uva and Eastern provinces and in the Galle, Matara and Polonnaruwa districts. 

Fairly strong winds of about (30-40) kmph can be expected at times over Northern and North-central provinces and in Hambantota district.

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Central and Uva provinces and in Ampara district during the early hours of the morning.

The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Condition of Rain:

Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the sea areas off the coast extending from   Mannar to Batticaloa via Puttalam, Colombo, Galle, Hambantota and Pottuvil.  Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the other sea areas around the island during the evening or night.

Winds:

Winds will be South-westerly and wind speed will be (25-35) kmph. Wind speed can increase up to   (50-55) kmph at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Chilaw to Kankasanthurai via Mannar and from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota.

State of Sea:

The sea areas off the coasts extending from Chilaw to Kankasanthurai via Mannar and from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota will be rough at times. The other sea areas around the island can be moderate.   

Temporarily strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers.
