Araghchi’s return comes after he left Islamabad on Saturday, reporting on X that he had shared Iran’s position on a “workable framework to permanently end the war on Iran” with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other top officials.
After he left, Trump said he had cancelled his envoys’ trip to Pakistan. Araghchi posted that he had “yet to see if the U.S. is truly serious about diplomacy”.
