According to the itinerary, the march on April 25 will begin from Pothgul Viharaya and proceed to Tholangamuwa National School. On April 26, participants will continue from the school to Yakkala Abeysekaraaramaya. The following day, April 27, the march will travel from Abeysekaraaramaya to the Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara.
A special discussion involving school and university students is scheduled to take place at Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara at 11:00 a.m. on April 28. Subsequently, the peace march will resume from Kelaniya and proceed to Independence Square.
A state ceremony will be held at Independence Square at 4:00 p.m. on the same day, under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake. During the event, the President is expected to officially hand over a sapling of the sacred Sri Maha Bodhi tree to a delegation led by Ven. Pannakara Thero.
The march will then recommence at 5:30 p.m. and is scheduled to conclude at the Gangaramaya Temple at 7:00 p.m.
The initiative is supported by multiple institutions, including the Presidential Secretariat, the “Clean Sri Lanka” program, the Ministry of Buddha Sasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, the Ministry of Public Administration, the tri-forces, the police, and the National Design Centre.
