In its statement, the party said that several posts being shared online using the UNP’s official symbols are completely false and do not reflect its official position.
The UNP pointed out that this year’s May Day falls on Vesak Poya, and therefore the party has not taken any decision to hold a May Day rally or celebration, either independently or jointly with any other party or organization.
The party further emphasized that any official announcements regarding May Day activities will be communicated only through its verified Facebook page and official YouTube channel, urging the public not to be misled by unverified information circulating online.
