The stream allows students to continue schooling from Grade 12 to Grade 13 while receiving hands-on vocational training leading to an NVQ Level 4 qualification, recognized both locally and internationally. Admission does not depend on G.C.E. Ordinary Level results, opening doors for students who sat the exam in 2025, 2026, or within the past three years.
Grade 12 students will develop soft skills and vocational awareness, while Grade 13 students will gain practical training at government vocational institutes and workplaces in fields such as IT, tourism, automotive technology, health services, gem and jewellery, construction, agriculture, and more.
Officials said this program is designed to equip students with job-ready skills, boost employment prospects, and create pathways to higher education and entrepreneurship. Students completing both school and NVQ training will be prepared to enter the workforce or pursue advanced studies in their chosen fields.

The Ministry emphasized that this initiative ensures all students have the opportunity to complete thirteen years of education, regardless of exam results, while gaining valuable skills for the modern workforce.
