A reduction in discounts granted to filling stations attached to the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has begun to disrupt operations at outlets across the country, prompting station managements to warn customers of possible service limitations.
Several CPC filling stations have displayed banners informing the public that the revised discount structure has created financial and operational challenges. According to the notices, the cut has affected the stations’ ability to maintain previous service standards and meet customer needs in full.
Filling station operators said the reduced margins have made it difficult to cover operational costs, leading to constraints in service delivery. They cautioned that customers may experience certain shortcomings as stations adjust to the new conditions.
While acknowledging the inconvenience caused, station managements emphasised that the situation is beyond their immediate control. Apology messages displayed at outlets assure customers that efforts are being made to continue operations despite the difficulties arising from the discount reduction.
