The Department of Meteorology has issued a warm weather advisory for today (29) covering the North-Central and Eastern provinces, as well as the districts of Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Mullaittivu, Vavuniya, Monaragala and Hambantota.
According to the advisory, the heat index, or the temperature felt by the human body, is expected to reach the ‘Caution’ level in some areas during the daytime.
The public is advised to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight where possible, and limit strenuous outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day.
