Sri Lanka’s GSP+ trade concession is secured until 2029, while the country will have a two-year period to reapply under a new mechanism, Dutch Ambassador to Sri Lanka and the Maldives Wiebe de Boer has said.

He made the remarks while attending the 31st Annual General Meeting of the Sri Lanka–Benelux Business Council of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce as the Chief Guest.

However, the Ambassador stressed that Sri Lanka should move towards a full-fledged Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the European Union in the future.
