A Dvora-class patrol boat belonging to the Sri Lanka Navy has met with an accident at sea off Angulana.

Navy Media Spokesman stated that rescue operations have been launched to evacuate personnel aboard the vessel after information about the incident was received.

Following a request from the Sri Lanka Navy, the Sri Lanka Air Force has also provided assistance in the ongoing rescue operation.

According to the Air Force Media Spokesman, an MI-17 helicopter and a Bell 412 helicopter have been deployed to monitor the vessel involved in the accident and support the rescue efforts.

Further details regarding the condition of the personnel on board and the circumstances surrounding the incident are expected to be released by the authorities.
