Siri Dalada Wandanawa : Public Advised to Avoid Kandy Until Further Notice

Kandy District Secretary Indika Udawatte, in a press briefing today, warned that the large influx of devotees currently exceeding 400,000 poses serious challenges to crowd control, public safety, and health.

The Sri Lanka Police had earlier advised against visiting on April 24 and 25, stating that any additional arrivals may not be able to complete their veneration. The special exposition, Siri Dalada Wandanawa, which began on April 18, will continue until April 27.

Devotees are requested to consider alternate dates to ensure a safe and orderly environment.
