Train derails near Gampaha causing delays on main line

According to officials, a train bound for Mirigama, which departed from Colombo Fort at approximately 4:25 p.m., derailed near the Gampaha station. In response to the incident, all train services on the Main Line are currently operating on a single track, leading to congestion and extended travel times.

Railway authorities are working to clear the affected section and restore full service as soon as possible. Passengers are advised to expect delays and make necessary travel adjustments.
