Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Santosh Jha, paid courtesy visits to former Sri Lankan Presidents Mahinda Rajapaksa and Ranil Wickremesinghe in separate meetings held on Monday, April 22.

 The Indian High Commission in Colombo confirmed the meetings via posts on X (formerly Twitter), stating that High Commissioner Jha and Mahinda Rajapaksa discussed the “versatile and dynamic India–Sri Lanka partnership” in light of evolving global developments. The High Commissioner also briefed the former President on recent advancements in both India and Sri Lanka.

Following the meeting, Mahinda Rajapaksa shared on X, “It was a pleasure to welcome the Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka for a courtesy call at my residence last evening.”

These high-level engagements come at a time of growing collaboration between India and Sri Lanka in areas including infrastructure, energy, and economic recovery.
