Sri Lankan police have retracted an earlier statement confirming the death of SLPP activist Dan Priyasad, who was shot at the Laksanda Sevana apartment complex in Meethotamulla.
While initial reports from the police spokesman stated that Priyasad had succumbed to his injuries, a later update clarified that he is still alive and currently receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Colombo National Hospital.
Investigations into the shooting are ongoing.
