The Election Commission has announced the establishment of a special postal voting center at Girl’s High School in Kandy to facilitate voting for police officers deployed for the upcoming ‘Siri Dalada Wandanawa’ exposition.

Around 10,000 police personnel assigned to ensure security during the religious event will be able to cast their postal ballots on April 24, 25, 28, and 29.

The special arrangement is part of the broader postal voting process for the upcoming Local Government (LG) elections, for which 648,495 individuals have been approved to vote by post.

The EC emphasized the importance of ensuring that all eligible voters, including those on essential duty, have the opportunity to exercise their democratic rights.
