Massive crowds continue to flock to Sri Dalada Maligawa on fifth day

Since the public viewing of the Tooth Relic on April 18, hundreds of thousands of devotees have gathered in the historic city to pay their respects. The pilgrimage, steeped in religious and cultural significance, has seen a steady influx of worshippers, both local and international, over the past five days.
Authorities have taken comprehensive steps to ensure the smooth flow of pilgrims, providing them with essential facilities such as water, food, rest areas, and medical support. The tri-forces, along with several civil and religious organizations, have extended their assistance to manage the massive crowds and maintain order.
A particularly heartwarming aspect of this year’s pilgrimage is the active participation of the Muslim community, who have been offering alms to pilgrims, embodying a spirit of religious harmony and coexistence.
As the pilgrimage continues, the atmosphere in Kandy remains one of peace, devotion, and unity, reflecting the deep reverence Sri Lankans hold for the Sacred Tooth Relic and the broader values of compassion and togetherness.
