Rear Admiral Indika De Silva, who was appointed as Commander North Central Naval Area, assumed duties at the Command Headquarters.

Upon his arrival, the incoming Area Commander was received incompliance with time-honoured naval traditions. Subsequently, Rear Admiral Indika De Silva formally assumed his new role, taking over the duties and responsibilities of the appointment.
