Exposition of Sacred Tooth Relic begins today after 16 years

 The inaugural ceremony is scheduled to take place at around 12.30 p.m., with the participation of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake. A host of foreign diplomats will also be in attendance, arriving in Kandy via a special train service arranged from Colombo to mark the significance of the event.

Organized under the patronage of the Malwatta and Asgiri Maha Nayaka Theros and the guidance of the Diyawadana Nilame, the sacred exposition is being hosted by the Sri Dalada Maligawa (Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic) and will continue for 10 days, from April 19 to April 27.

The exposition is expected to draw tens of thousands of pilgrims from across the island and abroad, offering a rare and spiritually significant opportunity to witness and venerate the sacred relic.
