A special traffic plan has been put into effect from today (17) in Kandy ahead of the highly anticipated "Siri Dalada Vandana" religious observance, set to begin tomorrow (18) at 3:30 PM.

According to the Sri Lanka Police, vehicle entry into Kandy city will be restricted to ease potential traffic congestion as large numbers of devotees are expected to arrive for the event. This initiative aims to ensure a smooth and safe experience for both residents and visitors.

To facilitate the movement of devotees, special parking areas have been established on the outskirts of the city. From these designated parking zones, bus services will transport devotees directly to the sacred Sri Dalada Maligawa.

Authorities have also arranged a return transport service to shuttle devotees back to the parking areas after their pilgrimage.

The "Siri Dalada Vandana" will officially commence tomorrow at 3:30 PM and will continue until 5:30 PM. Devotees are advised to follow police instructions and use the provided facilities to ensure the success and safety of the religious event.
