Sevaral schools in kandy to be closed

The revered exposition, held at the Sri Dalada Maligawa (Temple of the Tooth), will begin on April 18 with a ceremonial opening from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thereafter, it will continue daily for ten days, from 12:00 noon to 5:30 p.m., attracting thousands of devotees and visitors from across the country.
The decision to close schools during part of this period has been taken as a precautionary measure to manage traffic congestion and ensure the safety of school children amid the large crowds expected in the city.
The Sacred Tooth Relic is one of the most venerated objects in Sri Lankan Buddhism, and its public exposition is considered a rare and significant spiritual event.
Authorities urge the public to cooperate with security and traffic arrangements and encourage devotees to plan their visits accordingly.
