Professor Jayasena Kottegoda, the esteemed former Vice Chancellor of the University of Aesthetic Studies, passed away on the morning of April 14 at the age of 72. His passing marks the end of a remarkable chapter in Sri Lanka's academic and aesthetic spheres.
Renowned for his unwavering dedication to education and his visionary leadership, Professor Kottegoda played a pivotal role in shaping the academic and cultural direction of the University of Aesthetic Studies. His contributions left a lasting impact on students, faculty, and the broader field of aesthetics in the country.
Those who wish to pay their respects can do so at his residence, located at 10 Kanuwa Road, Boralesgamuwa, where the body will be placed from the afternoon of April 14. The final rites will take place on April 17 at the Boralesgamuwa public cemetery.
