The Department of Meteorology has issued a weather forecast for the sea areas around the island for the next 24 hours. Showers and thundershowers are expected in several places, particularly in the sea areas off the coast extending from Kankasanthurai to Hambantota, including Puttalam, Colombo, and Galle. These conditions may extend to other sea areas around the island in the evening or night.
