The Meteorological Department has issued a weather advisory for widespread showers and thundershowers across most areas of the island during the afternoon and night. The Western, Southern, and North-western coastal regions may experience showers in the morning as well.

Havy rainfall, exceeding 100 mm, is likely in several regions, including the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-western, and North-central provinces. Authorities have also warned of misty conditions in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, and North-central provinces during the morning hours.

The general public is urged to take precautions to avoid potential damages from localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers. Safety measures should be observed to minimize the risks associated with these weather conditions.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the sea areas around the island.

Winds:

Winds will be south-easterly or variable in direction and wind speed will be (20-30)kmph.

State of Sea:

Sea areas around the island will be slight.

Temporarily strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers.
