The Cabinet of the United Kingdom has announced the formation of a ministerial committee tasked with reviewing and submitting recommendations on future actions regarding the sanctions imposed on three former military chiefs of the country.

The committee, consisting of three prominent government officials, has been entrusted with the responsibility to carefully evaluate the situation and provide guidance on the next steps.

Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath, Justice Minister Harshana Nanayakkara, and Deputy Defense Minister Aruna Jayasekara have been appointed as members of the committee.

This decision comes amid growing discussions over the sanctions and their implications for the country’s foreign relations and national security. The committee will now work to assess the sanctions' impact and propose any necessary measures to the Cabinet in the coming weeks.
