The Cabinet of Sri Lanka has made a series of humanitarian decisions to assist the people of Myanmar during their ongoing crisis. The actions reflect the long-standing ties between the two nations as Buddhist states, with the Sri Lankan people offering support in various forms.

 The key contributions include:

  1. Financial Assistance: Sri Lanka will provide a financial contribution of one million US dollars to Myanmar, aimed at alleviating the hardships faced by its people.

  2. Material Aid: Under the guidance of Buddhist monks in Sri Lanka, necessary steps will be taken to collect material aid. This aid, known as "Kadi," will be sent to Myanmar to help those in need.

  3. Medical Support: A relief team consisting of doctors and other health professionals will be prepared to travel to Myanmar as needed. The team will be deployed to offer medical assistance and support to the affected population.

These measures highlight Sri Lanka's commitment to its Buddhist values and the long-standing friendship between the two nations, emphasizing the importance of humanitarian aid in times of crisis.
