15 Injured in Head-On Collision Between Private Bus and Lorry in Ingiriya

The incident took place when a private bus and a small lorry collided head-on, causing severe injuries to several passengers.

According to the police, the driver and assistant of the lorry were among those injured in the accident. The injured individuals were initially taken to Ingiriya District Hospital for treatment, with some, including school students and the lorry driver’s assistant, suffering from serious injuries. Due to the severity of their conditions, several victims were later transferred to the Horana Base Hospital for further medical care.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the collision, and traffic on the Horana-Ratnapura road has been temporarily disrupted as a result of the accident. Local police have urged motorists to exercise caution in the area.
