Buddhist monk found brutally murdered at monastery in Eppawala

 The discovery was made on the afternoon of March 25, when a visitor and another monk from a different temple arrived at the monastery and found the monk's lifeless body.

The visitor, upon discovering the grim scene, immediately alerted authorities. The Eppawala Police were promptly notified, and a team of officers launched an investigation into the incident.

Preliminary findings suggest that the monk had been killed under violent circumstances, though further details regarding the cause of death are yet to be revealed. It has also come to light that the deceased monk owned a three-wheeler, which was regularly driven by a hired driver. Police are actively searching for the missing driver, whose whereabouts remain unknown.
