The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) has announced that water supply will be temporarily suspended on March 27th, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., due to essential maintenance work on the electrical system at the Biyagama Water Treatment Plant, which is owned by the Electricity Board.
As a result, several areas will be affected by the suspension. The water supply will be disrupted in the following locations:
- Peliyagoda
- Wattala
- Ja-Ela
- Katunayake
- Seeduwa Urban Council areas
- Kelaniya
- Biyagama
- Mahara
- Dompe
- Katana
- Minuwangoda
- Gampaha
The NWSDB advises residents and businesses in these areas to store water in advance to minimize any inconvenience caused by the disruption. The Board has assured that efforts will be made to restore the water supply as promptly as possible after the completion of the maintenance work.
