The Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) has announced that motorists in the country will soon be able to settle their traffic fines via the Govpay platform.
Harsha Purasinghe, a board member of ICTA, confirmed that the groundwork for this initiative has already been completed, and an agreement to officially launch the service will be signed shortly. This move is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to streamline public services and enhance digital payment systems for citizens.
Once implemented, the platform will allow users to conveniently pay fines through a secure, online interface, making the process more efficient and accessible. The initiative is expected to reduce the burden on physical payment counters and encourage greater adoption of digital services among the public.
Stay tuned for further updates on the official rollout of this service.
