A new legislative bill aimed at recovering state assets illegally or improperly acquired during previous administrations is set to be introduced in Parliament. National People's Power (NPP) MP Chandana Sooriyaarachchi announced that the bill will be presented on April 8.

The proposed legislation will allow legal proceedings to reclaim any state property or funds that were misappropriated by individuals in the past. This move is seen as a significant step toward ensuring accountability and transparency in the management of state resources.

MP Sooriyaarachchi emphasized that the bill would provide a clear legal framework for the government to recover ill-gotten assets and hold wrongdoers accountable. The announcement has already sparked significant interest and debate, as the country grapples with issues of corruption and mismanagement in previous administrations.
