Kenyan Plane Crashes in Mogadishu

A Kenyan registered cargo plane from Gedo region and destined for Mogadishu, Somalia’s capital on Saturday crashed in Jasiira in the outskirts of Mogadishu.

Jasiira authorities and eyewitnesses have confirmed the plane crash, but details are sketchy regarding the exact number of casualties.

Initial reports indicate that 4 Kenyan nationals were on board on the plane.

The Somali gov’t dispatched security forces in the crash site.

The plane regitration 5Y-RPA aviation int’l Havilland Canada DH-C-5 left from Gedo and was on its way to Somalia’s capital Mogadishu.

The cargo plane experienced mechanical problems on Saturday while it was in Dhobley but reports further said that it was fixed.
