
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Visit Sri Lanka on April 5th

In his statement, President Dissanayake highlighted that the visit of Prime Minister Modi underscores the stability of Sri Lanka. He further mentioned that the construction of the Sampur Power Plant, a significant energy project, will begin around the same time as the visit.
The President also revealed plans for the development of renewable energy projects in the country, including a new solar power plant in Siyambalanduwa and a 50-megawatt wind power plant in Mannar, both set to be operational within the next two months.
This visit and the ongoing infrastructure developments are seen as a reflection of strengthening bilateral relations between India and Sri Lanka, as well as efforts to enhance the nation's energy capacity and sustainability.
