The Disaster Management Center (DMC), in collaboration with the Department of Examinations, has introduced a special joint program to ensure the smooth conduct of the 2024 G.C.E. Ordinary Level (O/L) examinations despite potential disruptions from unexpected weather conditions.

This initiative outlines clear responsibilities for all involved parties to strengthen emergency response coordination and minimize any potential disruptions that could impact students sitting for the O/L examinations or officials managing examination duties. In case of any unforeseen circumstances during the examination period, the DMC has already issued guidelines to relevant departments, including the Examinations Department, the Tri-Forces, the Police, and other stakeholders involved in disaster management.

To ensure effective communication during emergencies, the DMC has set up multiple channels through which students and guardians can contact the center for support:

  • DMC’s Emergency Number: 117
  • DMC’s Special Joint Emergency Operations Room Numbers:
    • 0113 668 020
    • 0113 668 100
    • 0113 668 013
    • 0113 668 010
    • 076 3 117 117
  • Examinations Department Hotline: 1911

The authorities urge students and their families to remain alert and use these numbers to report any issues or seek assistance during the examination period. This joint effort aims to safeguard the smooth running of the examinations and ensure the safety of all involved, even amidst unforeseen weather challenges.
