The much-anticipated GCE Ordinary Level (O/L) examination is set to commence tomorrow, March 17, and will run through March 26. This year, a total of 474,147 candidates have registered to sit for the examination, according to Commissioner General of Examinations, Amit Jayasundara.
The candidates include 398,182 school applicants and 75,965 private candidates, all of whom will be taking the exam across 3,663 examination centers spread throughout the country. To ensure smooth operations, 534 coordination centers and 33 regional collection centers will be in place during the exam period.
Additionally, special examination centers have been established in several locations to accommodate candidates with specific needs. These centers include Ratmalana, Tangalle, Matara, Chilaw, Colombo Magazine Prison, Watareka Suneetha College, Maharagama Apeksha Hospital, and Kainadi Nuffield Special School.
The Commissioner General of Examinations has urged all candidates to follow the guidelines set for the examination and wishes them the best of luck.
