Maldives authorities released two fiahing vessels

Yesterday (13), two vessels, However, due to the prompt intervention of Minister of Fisheries, Mr. Ramalingam Chandrasekar, and the cooperation of the Maldives authorities, efforts were made to release both vessels.

Additionally, the Director General of the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Mr. S. J. Kahawatte, emphasized: "At all times, the Ministry of Fisheries is present to ensure the proper conduct of fishermen engaged in fishing activities in international waters, without committing any violations. Therefore, we urge all fishermen to engage in fishing in accordance with international laws and regulations."

The Ministry of Fisheries expresses gratitude to the Maldives High Commission in Sri Lanka, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and all other parties involved in connection with this incident.
