Jeevaka Prasanna Purasinghe has assumed duties as the new Chairman of the Sri Lanka Transport Board.
Accordingly, he officially commenced his duties yesterday morning (March 6) at the main office of the Sri Lanka Transport Board located in Narahenpita, in the presence of the Minister of Transport, Bandula Gunawardena.
Purasinghe, who completed his primary and secondary education at St. Anthony's College in Matara, holds a degree in Science from the University of Kelaniya. He has held several senior positions in various private institutions and is currently serving as the Chairman of Lakdiva Engineering Company.
The vacancy arose following the resignation of the former Chairman, Romesh Siriwardena, on January 28. This new appointment has been made to fill that position.
