The Nilwala and Gin Rivers have reached minor flood levels, causing concern for residents in certain areas. According to L.S. Suriyabandara, the Director of the Hydrology Unit at the Department of Irrigation, the Nilwala River has reached minor flood levels in Akuressa and Panadugama. In addition, the Gin River has also reached similar levels in Baddegama.
