National women's week has been declared

The Ministry of Women and Child Affairs has declared a National Women's Week in celebration of International Women's Day, which falls on March 8th. This week, from March 2nd to 8th, includes a series of widespread activities focused on women's empowerment, awareness, safety, and improving their technological skills.
To encourage women entrepreneurs and create a marketplace for them, a "Liya Shakti" Women's Fair will be held in Colombo, at the Viharamahadevi Park, on March 5th and 6th.
This year’s Women's Day celebrations will be held under the concept of the Minister of Women and Child Affairs, Hon. Sarojini Savithri Polraj, and the Deputy Minister, Dr. Namal Sudarshana, with the participation of Prime Minister Hon. Harini Amarasuriya at the "Suhurupaya" Auditorium in Battaramulla.
