The Building Research Organization (BRO) has issued an early warning notice for several areas in the Badulla and Nuwara Eliya districts due to the heightened risk of landslides. The notice calls for heightened vigilance and preparedness in the affected regions.
According to the statement, residents in the Passara, Hali Ela, Badulla, Kandaketiya, Uva Paranagama, Meegahakivula, and Soranathota areas of the Badulla District are advised to be cautious of possible landslide hazards. Additionally, the BRO has warned the public in the Walapane area of the Nuwara Eliya district to remain alert and take necessary precautions.
Authorities have urged local residents to stay informed and follow any safety instructions issued by local government officials in response to the landslide risk.
