Sri Lanka's export revenue for January 2025 has surpassed $1.3 billion, according to the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (SLEDB). The total revenue for the month reached $1,334.19 million, marking a positive trend in the country's export performance.

Service exports saw a notable increase of 37.87% compared to January 2024, amounting to $329.37 million. This surge highlights the growing importance of service sectors such as tourism, IT, and business services in Sri Lanka’s export economy.

Goods exports in January also experienced growth, reaching $1,004.82 million, a 3.51% increase compared to the same period last year. Agricultural exports played a key role, with a substantial rise of 14.87%, totaling $258.93 million. This growth is attributed to the expanding demand for Sri Lankan agricultural products in international markets.

In addition, industrial exports showed a modest growth of 0.08%, valued at $745.89 million. These figures reflect a stable performance in the industrial sector, despite global economic challenges.

The SLEDB expressed optimism about the continued growth in Sri Lanka's export sectors, with an emphasis on expanding both goods and services exports to drive the nation's economic recovery.
