According to the department, the heat index representing the temperature felt by the human body s currently at concerning levels in the Northwestern, Western, and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as the Galle and Matara districts.
The department urges the public to take proactive measures to stay safe during this intense heat. It recommends drinking plenty of water and seeking shelter in shaded areas to avoid heat-related illnesses.
