Accordingly, a Bell 412 helicopter belonging to the Sri Lanka Air Force's No. 04 Squadron has been deployed to extinguish the fire, and it is stated that the Bambi Bucket device used for firefighting has also been deployed for this purpose.
This aircraft was dispatched from the Ratmalana Air Force Base this afternoon (24) following a request made to the Sri Lanka Air Force by the Ministry of Disaster Management.
Accordingly, the Air Force states that water was successfully dumped on the fire site on 10 occasions using Bambi buckets from the Maussakelle Reservoir, which is located close to the fire site.
