
Rainy Weather and Strong Winds Expected Across some districts

Starting tonight, showers are expected to occur in the Northern, North-central, Eastern, Uva, and Central provinces, as well as the Hambantota district.
The rain will persist through the night, with possible thundershowers in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, and in Galle and Matara districts, during the evening or night.
In addition to the rainfall, fairly strong winds with speeds ranging from 30 to 40 km/h are expected at times over the Northern, Eastern, North-central, and North-western provinces, and in Matale and Hambantota districts. The public is advised to take necessary precautions to prevent damage from the temporary localized strong winds.
The weather also predicts misty conditions during the morning in some areas of the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as in Galle and Matara districts.
The general public is kindly urged to be vigilant and take adequate precautions to minimize the risk of damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Condition of Rain:
Showers are expected in several sea areas extending from Kankasanthurai to Hambantota, passing through Trincomalee and Batticaloa. There may also be showers or thundershowers in the sea areas extending from Colombo to Matara via Galle, mainly during the afternoon or night.
Winds:
Northeasterly winds will prevail at speeds of 20-30 km/h. Wind speeds may increase to 50-55 km/h at times in the sea areas off the coast from Colombo to Kankasanthurai via Puttalam and Mannar, and from Matara to Batticaloa via Hambantota and Pottuvil.
State of Sea:
The sea areas off the coasts from Colombo to Kankasanthurai via Puttalam and Mannar, and from Matara to Batticaloa via Hambantota and Pottuvil, will be fairly rough at times. Other sea areas around the island will be moderate.
Mariners and sea travelers are advised to exercise caution due to these changing weather conditions.
