The Indo-Sri Lankan boat service, which had been temporarily suspended, resumed operations on February 22. The first boat, which departed from Nagapatnam Port in India, arrived at Kankesanthurai Port in Sri Lanka after more than two months of suspension due to adverse weather conditions. The boat, with 83 passengers on board, marks the recommencement of the vital passenger service.

The boat service will operate daily, except for Tuesdays, offering a convenient travel option between India and Sri Lanka. Passengers are allowed to carry up to 10 kilograms of luggage, with an additional fee applied for extra baggage. This marks a significant development in improving cross-border travel between the two nations.
