In response to the ongoing extreme heat, the Ministry of Education has released a set of guidelines aimed at protecting school children from the risks associated with high temperatures.

These guidelines, directed to all Provincial Education Directors by the Secretary of Education, were developed in consultation with the Ministry of Health to address the growing concerns about heat-related health issues.

The new measures focus on preventing conditions such as heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat strokes. Key recommendations include ensuring students stay hydrated, wear appropriate clothing, and avoid outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day. Schools are urged to implement these guidelines to help safeguard the health and well-being of students during this period of extreme heat.

The Ministry stresses the importance of adhering to these recommendations to ensure that students remain safe while continuing their education. The guidelines have been sent to provincial education authorities for immediate action and enforcement.
