High Commissioner of India Meets Minister of Public security

High Commissioner Santosh Jha held a crucial meeting with Hon. Ananda Wijepala, Sri Lanka's Minister of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs, to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation in law enforcement.

During the meeting, both leaders focused on fostering stronger collaboration between their respective law enforcement agencies, with an emphasis on mutual support in addressing security challenges. 

Key topics included the development and implementation of capacity-building programs aimed at equipping Sri Lanka’s police personnel with advanced skills and resources.

High Commissioner Jha expressed India's continued commitment to supporting Sri Lanka's efforts in strengthening its security framework, highlighting the importance of enhanced training, knowledge exchange, and technical assistance. The discussions were also centered on promoting best practices in policing and reinforcing the existing relationship between the two countries' law enforcement bodies.

Minister Wijepala welcomed the partnership, stressing the significance of these initiatives in bolstering Sri Lanka’s internal security. Both parties agreed to further explore avenues for collaboration, with an emphasis on training programs, technology exchange, and fostering closer ties between their police forces.

The meeting marked another milestone in the ongoing diplomatic engagement between India and Sri Lanka, reinforcing their shared commitment to regional security and stability.
